Engine tuning and cleaning

Been doin quite a few engine updates.   Had a couple good leaks but the truck ran great.  Leaks were coming from injector return lines and the lines connected to the mechanical fuel pump.  Ordered a kit off eBay with some quality return line.  Working really well now.

Wheels before and after

Wire wheel on a cordless drill.  Also used our harbor freight bubble balancer.   One of the chrome rims had a flat...couple months ago found a brand new tire on the side of the road.  Had it mounted for $5.  :-).

Charged the AC.

Had a old can of r12.  At one point driving the vent had a reading of 34.

Big day. Replaced valance & fender

Drive back to San Antonio

Was a longer and slower trip than anticipated.  If I had to do it over again I would have taken my neighbor up on his offer of using his 24ft enclosed car hauler and dually diesel.  Would have cost more in fuel (maybe) but would have been easier on the nerves.

Day 1 Picking her up in Phoenix

Attempt at making a mount for tow bar.  Was very sturdy...if the welder would have penetrated better and the tow hooks would not have been welded to the frame.

At the end of a long hot day in the sun the mount broke on the way to the hotel and we had 20 minutes to run to uhaul and pick up a transport.  Both trucks are packed full of parts.  Good thing the red truck has airlift bags and the trailer has brakes.

Why an old diesel K5 Blazer?

Many reasons...It's good to have a truck on a farm.  Always something to pull or haul.  A diesel is not only cool and powerful it is more efficient than a gasoline version.  A Blazer is a pickup truck with a big back seat and the top comes off.  ......  Update more later
